A standing room to ask the questions, not sit through a pitch.

Most investor webinars are one big sales event. Build A Better Portfolio™ is the opposite. It is a short, recurring session built around teaching one idea well and then opening the floor. The premise is simple. Stocks have a place. Real estate has a place. Private credit has a place. We show how the pieces fit so you can build wealth without leaning on a single asset class.

W2 earners

Physicians, attorneys, tech, finance. You already own public markets and want to add depreciation friendly passive income without becoming a landlord on the side. We cover how the K-1 and quarterly distributions actually work.

Busy professionals

Senior individual contributors and managers whose calendars are already full. Thirty minutes every other week is a manageable way to learn how private investments complement the portfolio you already hold, one topic at a time.

Founders & operators

Concentrated equity in your own business is a feature and a risk. Private real estate and private credit distributions sit outside your cap table and run on a different cycle than your operating income.

What's on the calendar.

Each session stands on its own. Pick the dates that fit, register once, and we will remind you before each one. The series runs through 2026 and topics may shift to follow what is moving in the market. We always read the room on the Q&A.

New topics are added as the series runs. Registered once already? You are on the list for all of these. Nothing more to do.

One idea, taught well

No firehose. Each session takes a single topic and explains it in plain English, so you leave understanding it, not just hearing it.

Live, unscripted Q&A

The part attendees rate highest. Bring your own situation and get a straight answer from the person who underwrites these deals for a living.

Current, not,
canned

We pull live market data into the relevant sessions, so what you hear reflects where rents, rates, and yields actually sit right now.

Replay and slides every time

Miss one? The recording and slides hit your inbox within 24 hours, so the series works even when your calendar does not.

Your Host
John Brackett

Founder and CEO, Fidelity Business Partners

Ten years in commercial banking, treasury management, and CRE finance before founding FBP. Carlsbad based, walks San Diego submarkets on foot, and uses the same frameworks on FBP's own balance sheet that he teaches in the series. He started Build A Better Portfolio™ for one reason. High income earners are told to pick a side, stocks or real estate, when the better answer is usually both. This is a standing place to learn how the pieces fit.

The questions we hear most.

Do I register for each session or just once?

Once. Your registration covers the whole series. We send a reminder with the Zoom link before each session, so you can choose which topics to attend without signing up again. The replay and slides go out after every session regardless.

No. It is an education first series. We are not asking you to move out of public markets. The goal is to show how private investments can complement the portfolio you already hold. We reference the kinds of deals we underwrite because that keeps the lessons concrete. If you want to talk specifics after, you can book a 1:1 investor conversation with John. Specific offerings are made only through formal PPM and subscription documents to verified accredited investors.

Our offerings are restricted to accredited investors under SEC Reg D Rule 506(c), so we ask for accreditation status at registration. The sessions themselves are educational. If you are not yet accredited, we will still send you the replays and materials so you can learn the asset class.

Nothing. The series is free. The replay and slides go to every registrant within 24 hours of each session. The live Q&A is the most valuable part, so come live when the topic is right for you.

Please do. The calendar is shaped by what registrants want covered and what is moving in the market. Reply to any reminder email with a topic or a question and we will work it into a future session.

Thirty minutes. Roughly 20 minutes of teaching on the day’s topic, then about 10 minutes of open, unscripted Q&A. Short enough to fit a lunch break, focused enough to be worth it.

The next session is Thursday, July 23. Save your seat for the series.
